John grew up in Salisbury on Dominica's west coast and came of age musically in the 1970s, when the island was producing more creative energy per square mile than almost anywhere in the Caribbean.

As the frontman of Bill-O-Men, one of the great cadence-lypso bands of that era, he helped shape a sound built around powerful vocals, tight arrangements, and French Creole lyrics that people actually lived inside. The band only stayed together for about two years, but the songs, Voisine, Marie Claude, Ma Famille et Moi, Greve General, stayed in rotation for decades.

Meet the Artist

Waitukubuli Artists Association

The Waitukubuli Artist Association (WAA) was founded in Dominica in 2017 by master artist Earl Etienne and Craig Steadman of DEXIA, in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. What began as a small gathering of visual artists has grown into a community of over 90 members — painters, sculptors, photographers, poets, performers, and more .

Volunteer-run and currently led by filmmaker and photographer Michael Lees, WAA has produced large-scale public murals, staged exhibitions across Dominica, and built mentorship programs for emerging artists. Eight years on, the association remains the island's primary collective voice for the visual arts.

Does the art arrive ready to hang?

Framed prints arrive fully assembled with hanging hardware included. Unframed prints are rolled in protective tubes.

Yes — free worldwide shipping on every order, every time. No minimums, no exceptions.

Can I order a custom size?

We currently offer four or five standard sizes depending on the aspect ratio. If you have a specific size in mind, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
