Jefferson Osbert Sylvester Joseph was born on 30 September 1953 in St. Joseph, on Dominica's west coast, a village with deep carnival traditions and the kind of street life that gets into your music whether you plan it or not.

He founded Grammacks in 1972, pulling together young musicians from the Dominica Grammar School and St. Mary's Academy, the band name itself a stitch between the two schools. By 1974 the newspapers were reporting their success in Guadeloupe. Henri Debs, the Guadeloupian producer who could make or break a Caribbean career, took notice early.

Meet the Artist

Waitukubuli Artists Association

The Waitukubuli Artist Association (WAA) was founded in Dominica in 2017 by master artist Earl Etienne and Craig Steadman of DEXIA, in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. What began as a small gathering of visual artists has grown into a community of over 90 members — painters, sculptors, photographers, poets, performers, and more .

Volunteer-run and currently led by filmmaker and photographer Michael Lees, WAA has produced large-scale public murals, staged exhibitions across Dominica, and built mentorship programs for emerging artists. Eight years on, the association remains the island's primary collective voice for the visual arts.

Does the art arrive ready to hang?

Framed prints arrive fully assembled with hanging hardware included. Unframed prints are rolled in protective tubes.

Can I order a custom size?

We currently offer four or five standard sizes depending on the aspect ratio. If you have a specific size in mind, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
