Williams grew up in Massacre, on Dominica's leeward coast, building instruments from whatever he could find before he ever had a proper one. By the time he reached St. Mary's Academy he already knew what he was.

In 1969 he and Gordon Henderson co-founded Exile One, the band that cracked cadence-lypso open for the world, threading Haitian kadans rhythms through calypso until something new came out the other side. His organ and synthesizer work shaped that sound from the inside, not as ornament but as architecture.

Meet the Artist

Waitukubuli Artists Association

The Waitukubuli Artist Association (WAA) was founded in Dominica in 2017 by master artist Earl Etienne and Craig Steadman of DEXIA, in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. What began as a small gathering of visual artists has grown into a community of over 90 members — painters, sculptors, photographers, poets, performers, and more .

Volunteer-run and currently led by filmmaker and photographer Michael Lees, WAA has produced large-scale public murals, staged exhibitions across Dominica, and built mentorship programs for emerging artists. Eight years on, the association remains the island's primary collective voice for the visual arts.

Framed prints arrive fully assembled with hanging hardware included. Unframed prints are rolled in protective tubes.

Can I order a custom size?

We currently offer four or five standard sizes depending on the aspect ratio. If you have a specific size in mind, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
