Tucked behind a rocky tombolo at Dominica's southernmost tip, this hidden strip of sand is known only to local fishermen and divers — and now, to those who look closely enough. Shot on an overcast day at Cachacrou, the site of an 18th-century British fort, the image balances rugged rockface texture against smooth sand and gently shifting water, with deeper blues giving way to pale turquoise in the shallows.

Yuri A. Jones is a Dominican photographer based in the U.S., whose work is deeply tied to the island he grew up on. He shoots nature, landscapes, aerials, and cultural scenes; the waterfalls, forests, coastlines, mountains, and everyday Caribbean moments that most people walk past without stopping. Before photography, he spent years working in finance. He left that behind to build something closer to what he actually cared about.
